Computer Centre
The computer centre at the Science faculty has more than 1000 systems with latest configuration and internet connections.
In Faculty of Engineering & Technology, a mega computer center serving the needs of Computer Science, Engineering & Information Technology departments, has 800 systems. The network is built with high configuration IBM server with a host of peripherals to fulfill the needs of UG & PG students. A separate Computer Centre with 200 latest computers and IBM Servers fulfills the needs of PG students.
This center is equipped with a wide variety of original software to meet the training and research application purposes. We have internet connectivity with a band width of 2 Mbps leased line.
Libraries & Information Centre
The well-stacked libraries at the two campuses provide conducive learning atmosphere. The inventory is enhanced on a daily basis. An ERP package for PRIST includes a Library Information System. PRIST is a member of British Council Library. Delnet service provides internet-based access facility to libraries across the world.
The East Campus Library
The library has an area of 8,000 sq.ft. There are 17,300 volumes, 6,600 titles, 55 journals and 700 reference titles. The library subscribes to 51 Magazines, besides having 800 CD–ROMs, 39 Back Volumes.
The West Campus Library
The library has an area of 8,000 sq.ft. There are 29,000 volumes, 9,282 titles, DEL, e-texts, e-journals and 2000 reference titles. The Library subscribes to 50 magazines, contains 980 CD–ROMs and 131 Back Volumes, AICTE Indest consortium for Electronics Journals, Digital Library for Text and reference and IEEE online for e-journals atleast 700 documents and 132 journals.
The Seminar Hall
The East Campus has a fully air conditioned Seminar Hall to accommodate 600 delegates. The West Campus also has an equally well equipped Seminar Hall to accommodate 400 delegates. The seminar halls are well furnished with raised podium, good acoustics, latest public address system, OHP and LCD facilities. To facilitate international meets V-Sat connection is also made available.
The Class Room
As the campuses are located in green plains and the buildings are on flat grounds, the class rooms are naturally ventilated with good natural light. The classrooms have acoustic containment. The seatings ensure comfort, convenience and unrestrained view of the lecturer and the writing board. There are separate class rooms for girls for most courses. In co-education classes, girls and boys are seated separately.
Canteen
Clean and efficient canteens serve the hostel residents with nutritious, cost-effective and quality food. PRICH acts as the advisor to the canteens.
Hostel
The hostel complex at PRIST is designed to provide comfort and convenience, thus being conducive to right level of motivation for students to pursue their studies and for interaction with fellow students under standard guidelines. The East Campus as well as the West Campus hostels are being expanded. There are separate hostels for UG and PG girls. Basic sports and recreation facilities are made available in all the hostels.
Health care
Two full-time qualified registered medical practitioners are attached to the two campuses and the hostels. The clinic is well equipped to cater to general healthcare and common illness. Arrangements are made with leading hospitals in Thanjavur for advanced treatment, if required.
