PRIST Deemed-to-be University, Thanjavur Vallam, was abuzz with vibrant festivities as it hosted grand Pongal celebrations, showcasing Tamil culture and traditions with enthusiasm and splendour. The event, graced by students, faculty, and distinguished dignitaries, was a resounding success.

The program commenced with a warm welcome by Registrar Dr. M. Abdul Ghani Khan, setting the stage for the festivities. This was followed by a presidential address, which highlighted the cultural and traditional significance of Pongal. Chancellor Prof. M. Ponnaiyah Nageshwaran blessed the Pongal celebrations and encouraged students to embrace the spirit of the festival while striving for academic excellence and personal growth.

Thanjavur Deputy Mayor Dr. Anjugam Boopathi, the guest of honour, captivated the audience with her eloquent address on the festival’s relevance and the responsibilities of students toward society. The CEO Dr. Venkata H.R.D also shared insightful perspectives on leading purposeful lives, developing essential skills, and emphasized the cultural and historical significance of Tamil Nadu.

One of the event’s highlights was the prize distribution, where students were recognized and celebrated for their achievements in various competitions. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, followed by the national anthem.
