National Mathematics Day 2024-M-QUIZ

The Department of Mathematics, School of Arts and Science, PRIST Deemed-to-be University, Vallam, Thanjavur, successfully organized a Mathematics Quiz Programme to commemorate National Mathematics Day. The event was conducted with the aim of promoting mathematical aptitude and fostering intellectual engagement among students.
The programme commenced with a warm and inspiring welcome address delivered by Dr. A. Usha, Assistant Professor, who also holds the responsibilities of the O/o Deans of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs. Her insightful words set the tone for the event, encouraging participants and attendees alike to celebrate the significance of mathematics in everyday life and academia.
A special address was delivered by Dr. L. Chinnappa, Dean of Arts and Science, during the event. In his address, Dr. L. Chinnappa highlighted the pivotal role of mathematics in fostering logical thinking and problem-solving skills, motivating the participants to excel in their pursuits.
The Mathematics Quiz Programme featured Nine teams—B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, G1, G2, G3, and G4—with a total of 45 students participating. The event was skilfully coordinated by Dr. D. R. Kirubaharan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, who ensured the smooth conduct of the competition. The quiz tested participants’ knowledge across various mathematical domains and was judged by Dr. L. Chinnappa, whose expertise added value to the assessment.
Prize Distribution
Following the rigorous competition, the winners were announced, and prizes were distributed by Dr. L. Chinnapa.
