TRAINING PROGRAM ON ‘DRONES FOR AGRICULTURE’
On January 31st , 2025, the School of Agriculture, PRIST Deemed to be University, organized a training camp on ‘Drones for Agriculture’ to educate farmers on the latest advancements in agricultural technology.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. T. V. Christy, who inaugurated the programme encouraged students and faculty to undertake projects that benefit the farming community. Dr. Venkata, Chief Executive Officer, emphasized PRIST Deemed to be University’s dedication to agricultural education and its support for student-driven innovation. Dr. M. Abdul Ghani Khan, Registrar, highlighted the available government subsidies and regulatory support for adopting drone technology in agriculture.
Dr. R. Arun Kumar, Head of the Department and the Organizing Secretary of the event, welcomed the gathering and introduced Mr. Aravindan from Radial Production Technology, who discussed drone principles, chemical applications, seed sowing, crop monitoring, and agricultural benefits. He also addressed farmer and student queries.
A live drone demonstration showcased precision farming applications, with active participation from farmers in Thanjavur district.
The event highlighted technology’s role in agriculture, tackling resource optimization and labor costs, reaffirming PRIST Deemed to be University’s commitment to empowering the farming community through innovation.
