ONE – DAY TRAINING ON MANAGING FEED COSTS AND PRODUCTION EFFICIENCY IN POULTRY FARMING – August 29, 2024
On Thursday, August 29, 2024, the training program titled ‘Managing Feed Costs and Production Efficiency in Poultry Farming’ took place. The program began at 10:00 am and concluded at 2:45 pm. Dr. R. Arunkumar, the Head of the Department (i/c), supported orgaizing the Workshop, which was conducted by Ms. M. Nuthana Priya, Assistant Professor in the Department of Horticulture at the School of Agriculture. The Workshop’s resource person, Mr. S. Misa Heal from Jeslin Poultry Farm, was honoured after invoking Mother Tamil and lighting of the lamp. The training session officially started at 10:30 am following a special address and guest introduction by Dr. R. Arunkumar. The Workshop was attended by participants from the School of Agriculture.
The poultry management training program was organized to improve participants’ understanding and practical knowledge on identifying various types of quails and learning about the medicinal properties of the Kadaknath variety. The resource person delivered an insightful talk on cost management in poultry farming. The training program was structured into the following key sessions:
Session 1: Introduction to Poultry management
Introduction to different types of hens, quails and kadaknath varieties
Session 2: discussion about poultry costs
Hands-on demonstration about the quails and discussing about the costs of the quail products
Session 3: Open Discussion and Q&A
Participants were encouraged to share their experiences and ask questions related to poultry farming. The resource person Mr. Misa Heal provided tailored advice and solutions to specific challenges faced by the participants.
